[ The 'oh' that hangs in the air says more to Hilda than any string of words might have otherwise. Or rather, she thinks it says something. She's never been so confident or arrogant in her ability to notice things about other people; it's always been easier to leave that to people like Claude or people who needed to use perception for something useful.

For Hilda, the realization that she liked girls as much as she liked boys, hadn't come as a large shock to her. There had been no internal conflict, no worry that people would think less of her, because it only stood to reason that her charmed life extended to that part of herself too. She had been lucky that she had simply come to accept it as a fact about herself and that others had too. Fodlan had its faux pas, but the love between those of the same sex wasn't one of them. Not really. But just because she had been so lucky, didn't mean that it was the same for everyone else.

That's perhaps why, when the little 'x' appears rather shyly (could words emote? Even if they can't, Hilda thinks that Robin's 'x' does), is all the more precious and meaningful to her. She senses it's not the time to push the subject so she doesn't — but that doesn't stop her from teasing her. ]
